Youth share points!

Result : Naphill Youth 1 v Wycombe Town AFC Youth 1

On Sunday with the majority of Wycombe Town AFC Youth still only 16, they came up against high flying Naphill, an experienced youth side of virtually all 6 ft plus 18 year olds and creditably came away with1-1 draw.

In the first half the boys passed the ball well and took the lead with a typical piece of intricate play allowing Greg O'Hara to coolly slot the ball past the Naphill keeper. The pitch was heavy and began to cut up but ‘Town’ stuck to their task and tried to play slick passing football. Naphill sent wave after wave of long balls over the top, but ‘Town’ defended resolutely and turned every defence into an attack. Naphill had a slight piece of luck which handed them an equaliser but a change of tactics allowed ‘Town’ to put pressure on the opposition goal and only their keeper kept the score at 1-1. Late on a closely called offside disallowed goal would have given ‘Town’ victory but they had to settle for a well-deserved draw.

POINTS SHARED!

Result : Wycombe Town FC 1 v FC Beaconsfield 1

An improving Wycombe Town side started well and gave FC Beaconsfield a few scares early in the first half; playing some neat passing football they created several chances. With a few new faces in the line up, ‘Town’ moved the ball well and on one driving attack down the left, Steve Perry crossed a great ball which Liam Holder met with a flying header which powered in to the net. FC Beaconsfield began to get back into the game and equalised to make it 1-1 at half time.

In the second half the game continued evenly matched, with each team squandering chances and 'Town' could wrapped it up in the last minute, when they broke away but the shot squirmed past the post and they had to end up sharing the points.

Wycombe Town FC vs Masters

Result : Wycombe Town FC 3-12 Masters

On Sunday, Wycombe Town lost 12-3 to a very strong Masters team who currently sit on top the Premier division.

Not an unexpected result, 'Town' who were under pressure from the start, still tried to play good football and although Masters dominated large parts of the game, 'Town' kept going 'till the final whistle and managed to score three goals from Liam Holder, Michael Butcher and Darren Crane and came away from the match with a great deal of credit.
